Oxford cloth material   VS   Canvas---   Gomiek Raincoat

Canvas is a thick cotton or hemp fabric, named after its initial use in sails. Generally, plain or twill weave is used, and multi ply yarn is used for both warp and weft yarns. Canvas is usually divided into two categories: coarse canvas and fine canvas.

Coarse canvas, also known as awning cloth, is commonly woven with 4 to 7 strands of 58 gauge (10 inch count) yarn, which is strong and folding resistant, and has good waterproof performance. It is used for vehicle transportation, outdoor warehouse covering, and outdoor tent building. Fine canvas warp and weft yarns are generally 2-strand 58-6-strand 28-strand (10-inch count/2-21-inch count/6), used for making labor protection clothing and supplies. After dyeing, it can also be used as shoes, travel bags, backpacks, etc.

There are many types of Oxford cloth, both plain and twill, and jacquard can be woven. There are various types of woven oxford cloth, nylon oxford cloth, full stretch oxford cloth, tigue oxford cloth, weft oxford cloth, etc. Different types and different uses.

Oxford cloth products have bright colors, excellent elasticity, good resistance to sunlight and abrasion, and good corrosion resistance; After being coated with waterproof, flame-retardant, PU, PV, or UNI glue, the product is the main material for making bags, tents, strollers, shoes, storage, and other materials.

Oxford cloth is relatively soft and more comfortable, and most Oxford fabrics are made of polyester cotton blended yarn and cotton yarn, which have a better feel and moisture absorption. Canvas fabric is wear-resistant and relatively thick, with a hard and rough feel.

If oxford cloth or canvas is stronger and more durable, it depends on our different needs, but currently many fabrics are replaced with oxford cloth.
